This 100%-owned project comprises a 1,305km2 tenement package approximately 140km south of Kununurra straddling the East Kimberley region of WA and Northern Territory.
Main prospects include the Mt Elder (Cu), Caves (Cu) and The Junction (Ni-Cu-PGE)
Located in an emerging district prospective for Michigan-style stratigraphic Cu and Norilsk-style Ni-Cu-PGE mineral systems.
The region has active exploration and mining in proximity to the project, including:
Savannah Ni-Cu-Co Mine and processing plant
Fresh ground pegged by Wyloo Metals
IGO increasing landholding to more than 8,300km2 along the Halls Creek Orogen
Future Metals-Octava Metals exploration JV at Panton North and Copernicus North tenements, with Panton Ni-Cu-PGM Project holding a Mineral resource of 5Moz PGM3E and 238kt Ni.
The project is readily accessible via arterial Duncan Road, which connects WA to the Northern Territory, and has good road access to Wyndham Port, which has a history of shipping ore concentrate.
EXPLORATION HISTORY & ACTIVITY
Until Omnia acquired the project, the area had not been subject to electromagnetic surveys since 1996 by BHP Minerals.
Follow-up mapping and sampling completed in 1996 identified outcropping mineralisation over an area of approximately 90m x 180m at Caves before dipping undercover.
Reconnaissance field work conducted returned highly encouraging results including six examples of elevated (>350ppm) copper values with high grade results of:
10.1% CU and 26g/t Ag (OMRK01
10.3% Cu & 29g/t Ag (OMRK02)
9.9% Cu & 22g/t Ag (OMRK03)
Omnia has since conducted aerial reconnaissance EM survey mapping and sampling over target areas of the project, including:
1311-line kilometre Falcon Plus Airborne Gravity Survey
437-line km VTEM Max Survey over prospective areas at The Junction.
